History
La Asociación Intercooperativa Regional es una entidad de integración horizontal de las cooperativas de Bahía Blanca y su zona de influencia, constituida en 1964 y reconocida por el Instituto Nacional de Acción Cooperativa en 1973. Su antecedente fue la Comisión Intercooperativa de Bahía Blanca, creada en 1942 por impulso de la Cooperativa Obrera. Fueron fundadoras de AIR las 32 cooperativas de diversas actividades existentes en la zona.
La AIR se incorporó a COOPERAR en 1973, y poco después creó el Instituto Regional de Capacitación y Educación Cooperativas IRCECOOP, cuya misión es promover este tipo de actividades.
